Sensotronic Brake Control

The Maybach models are equipped with the electrohydraulic SBC™ (Sensotronic Brake Control) system which offers a raft of safety and comfort-related benefits which are not available with conventional braking systems.
Sensotronic Brake Control
The braking force is calculated precisely for each wheel individually, thanks to a twin concept
with 2 x 4 brake circuits and two central control units. ESP®, ABS, BAS and ASR systems are all integrated, enhancing the security levels.
The large grey cast-iron brake discs are internally ventilated and show twin aluminium callipers
on each of the front discs.
The enhanced pressure build up performance and precision as well as the independent control
of the braking force at each wheel give the vehicles more stable braking characteristics,
an enhanced driving pleasure, optimum deceleration performance during cornering and, of course,
a shorter stopping distance, thanks to a total of 24 brake pistons.
AIRMATIC Dual Control

AIRMATIC Dual Control

The suspension system on Maybach models gives the driver outstanding control of the vehicle, while the passenger can enjoy the relaxing ambience of the saloon, even at high speeds.
A decisive role for that impressive driving comfort is taken by the semi-active air suspension AIRMATIC DC with adaptive damping and level control systems.
All models show a double-wishbone front suspension with effective decoupling for high comfort through vibration suppression, the aluminium upper wishbone is linked directly to the body via large rubber mounts, the steel lower wishbone is decoupled from body by four hydraulically damped mounts and the multi-link independent rear suspension is handled by five links which are connected to the sub frame via rubber mounts.
In order to increase performances on the Maybach 57 S model, the suspension has been lowered by 15 mm and the upgraded stabilisers reduce roll angle by approximately 15 percent during fast cornering. The firmness of air suspension/damping has been adapted to the high driving performance. On every Maybach model three different suspension settings can be selected at the touch of a button. Even ESP® and ASR have now a more dynamic configuration.

Steering system

The developers and design engineers at the Maybach Manufaktur are committed to exploring every possibility to make the driving experience as pleasant as possible.

One of the results is the 4-way power adjustment function for the steering column which allows you to find a steering wheel position that is ideal for you. Driving is always a real pleasure thanks to the speed-sensitive, recirculating ball, power and heated steering wheel.
